...one tree at a time. Poor little trees. You know the ones. Not quite pretty enough for the cherished Christmas tree. Standing all alone in the forest. Or maybe not standing alone, but so close to the perfect tree next to them that only one side is presentable. Wishing, hoping, wanting for someone to come along who recognizes them for what they are on the inside. Who cares that the branches are too scrawny to hold lights up? We try to help the less glamorous trees every year. It makes them feel good. And this year's tree was perfect for the kids to decorate all by themselves. I helped by picking out the lightest ornaments so the tree would not topple over. I know you're all jealous. It makes a great conversation piece and causes laughter for all who come to our house. If you would like a house full of jolly company next year, think of the trees. Make one happy. You can even keep most of the decorations in the box.
