Evil Plans

Earlier in the week after I tucked Lindsay into bed I grabbed her book on my way out. She wanted to keep it in her room to "read in the morning". I took the book anyway because I was going to read it. That's when she told me I was ruining her "evil plan" to stay up late and read under her covers with a flashlight. Last night around 10:30 she came to me and asked me to lay down with her because she couldn't sleep. She then admitted that she was finally able to carry out her evil plan without being detected and was too tired to sleep. I can't say I blame her. I too am guilty of staying up into the wee hours of the morning to read Lindsay's books just this week.

We eat dinner together at the kitchen table every night with very few exceptions. It's the best way to garner information from our children without any effort. Details of their day just come pouring out. Last night Lindsay informed us of her plan at school today. They are having a substitute teacher. Lindsay is planning on using an alias to confuse the teacher. Her chosen name, if I remember correctly, is Billy Bob. She is not alone in this plan. She mentioned that all of the girls in the class also have an alternate name picked. During this confession I think someone changed the subject because I don't remember telling her that it may not be the best idea as a good mother would. I blame it on my self induced sleep deprivation. I hope that is the only plan she has made. Poor substitute. And for those of you who think Lindsay is so sweet, there is always an evil plan in the back of her mind.

Who would have known she was so naughty. I love the new family and individual pictures by the way. It really shows just how crazy you all are.

Cute stories about Lindsay. I'm sure someday she'll love reading about these.
