San Diego!
Lindsay had been begging to go to the San Diego Zoo so we finally made a trip this year.
We stayed at a resort that had a lot of activities that we all enjoyed. A few swimming pools, water slides, air hockey, foosball, pool, craft time, etc. One night we took the kids to a magic/comedy show. When the magician was going to cut his lovely assistant in thirds Nicholas thew himself down on the floor, covered his head and screamed, "I can't watch!" That may have evoked as much laughter from those around us as the comedian. He doesn't like anything scary and that was a bit too much for him.
Our day at the zoo was fun. We walked around to look at the animals from the ground, went on the bus tour and sat on the top level to see the animals from a higher view and also rode the tram which gave a us view of the zoo from a distance. Nicholas insisted on wearing his goggles the entire time, much to the embarrassment of his sisters.

Near the end of the day Nicholas had an injury. It was quite sad. Nicholas was screaming and waving his head back and forth saying "I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do". While at the First Aid station they told us that we should go and get stitches. As a family it took us about two seconds to decide against the prescribed medical advice. If you have ever been to a doctors office with Nicholas you would agree completely without question. A little scar is nothing compared to the trauma that would ensue at the ER. Besides, scars are cool.
A day spent at the beach in Oceanside by the pier. I don't know if the wind and lack of sun scared people off, but we had the beach to ourselves!
The kids loved the shows at Sea World. Their favorite was one with the seal. They always wanted to sit in the soak zone so we spent a good deal of time being wet.
