Bittersweet

I just turned in my student badge.  We had a family talk last Monday and it was unanimous that my presence at home after school was not being missed too much and I could continue my full-time French study.  As the second week unfolded it was pretty clear that I am needed at home.  I am happy to be home again, but I am going to miss my French class.  I had eased into school life and was really enjoying both the learning and the new friends I was with every day.
Tomorrow I'm on my own.  All day.  Although I have plenty of things to fill my day with, I'll be alone.  All day.  Bittersweet.

I just caught up on your blog! I can't believe you're going to Belgium! That will be such an experience for your family. I hear the Rosetta Stone works really well- the military uses it. At least one of you will speak french fluently! How is your ward? I hope you are making friends.

I can relate - somehow I never made the time to take Spanish classes while in Mexico. I guess there's a time and a season for everything. Someday I'm going to really learn Spanish.
Sometimes the public libraries have language programs on CD or tape.

I am using Rosetta Stone now. I'm hoping to take an online French course as well. When we arrive in Belgium I will have a lot of opportunities to learn there also. I really like our ward here and everyone is making friends.

I know that the Carson Library has a lot of languages on CD you can check out and start with pronunciation etc. I bet you could do that too there. It is cheaper than buying Rosetta Stone. I love your blog. Keep it up!
