Home

We are loving our new place.  I feel like we have more room to breathe now.  The boxes are unpacked and our ever changing version of normal can begin once more.

I have found that I can cook while "roughing it".  Cookies can be made without a mixer, measuring cups, cookie scoops, convection ovens, parchment paper and  multiple cookie sheets.    I now also remember why I have thing like a garlic press, wooden spoons, serving bowls, etc.  It may take longer to make a meal and the presentation may not be great but the kitchen will always be my favorite room.
The first couple of days we were here Nicholas was loving the power of ordering his sisters out of his room.  Although it's small, he has his own space and no one has a reason to trespass, unless they are invited in of course.  He, on the other hand, has reason to go in every room in the house.  His clothes are in a dresser in the girls room and he is sharing a closet with Ryan, along with a hall closet that he insists is his shoe closet.  Maybe the absence of a closet and dresser in his room isn't too bad for him after all.
Sabrina and Lindsay have told us that they each have their own room, you just need to know where the invisible line is.  It brings back memories from when I was younger and shared a room with my sisters.  Invisible lines didn't work as well for us, but tape did.  We always fought over who got to have the door though.
We have been enjoying swimming here, and not only the pool, but playing with friends.  Every one in the family has someone their age living here in the same apartment complex that they have played with at the pool.  Not only is it good for them, but I also get to communicate with other adults.  I can't tell you how much I have missed having friends!

What about your ward? Any friend making there? What about inviting people over for FHE? I love your blog.

So how big is this new "bigger" apartment? Sounds like it is working out great with the swimming pool there - I hope it stays warm so that you get to enjoy it for a while. We miss you all!

We are making friends quickly in our new ward and had people over tonight. We'll have to do it more often.

The new apartment is great. I've found we don't need as much space without any "junk" to store. The swimming pool closed this week for the season but we enjoyed it while it was open. We're missing everyone but enjoying new experiences.

Aaahhh to live in Belgium. The Land of Chocolate! I was so glad you ended up there and not some place in Africa. So happy I found your blog, too.
