Our First Visitor

My sister Leanna came to stay with us for a few days with her cute baby.  We missed my other niece and nephew but I'm sure they'll come to see us in Belgium.  We stayed up late talking every night and managed to drag ourselves out of bed in the morning to see some sights.

The Capitol Building
Each state sends 2 statues to represent them in the capitol.  The newest one is of Helen Keller.  It is the first statue of a child to be displayed there.
Ryan was able to join us for part of the day which was nice because he doesn't get lost like I do so we were able to spend more time looking at interesting things (like the Library of Congress, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, White house, Smithsonian museums, etc.) instead of wandering around trying to figure out where we were.

Mount Vernon was our favorite stop of the week.  The weather was perfect and it was nice to spend some time outside while enjoying the company learning more about our first president.

The view from the backyard was gorgeous.  I'm sorry you missed it.  Instead you can see our family in front of the view.  (We still only have 3 kids.  Leanna's baby just improved the picture.)
Nicholas was in rare form and not making funny faces for the camera.
Cute mom, cute baby
A beautiful greenhouse to match all of the beautiful gardens around the property.
Lindsay loves to spend time with animals where ever we go.
Children running all day to the point where they only have enough energy to make it back to the car.
It's a good thing.

Thanks for visiting Leanna.  We had fun!

Mt Vernon is my favorite. What would happen if I came to visit? We could be lost together. :)

Great pictures! I just LOVE the East Coast because of all the amazing places to visit! That's one of the very few things I miss about living there!
