Graduation

Ryan had his graduation today.  We underestimated the time it would take us to get there so we pulled into the parking lot just before it started.  He ran inside the gate near the building while I went around to the entrance for the security check and a guest pass.  It ended up being a nice early morning walk/sprint.  To get to the right building in record time I decided to cut across the grass even though I was wearing boots with high heels.  I happily aerated the lawn and picked up more than my fair share of mud in the process.  I stomped off what I could but decided a detour to the bathroom was needed to make my shoes look presentable (and not leave a trail of mud behind).  I was a couple of minutes late by that time and went past the first entrance because I thought I would look less conspicuous going in the next entrance, which instead led me to a fantastic seat right behind the dean and next to other "important people" of the day.  It was also the best place to take a picture.  It sort of disproves the theory that being early is always better.  So, courtesy of the great seat, I have a picture of Ryan at his graduation that would not have been taken had I been on time.
