Our First Week

I have been trying to download pictures and it is not working very well.  Many hours, errors and computer  crashes later I am giving up for the time being.  When we move we will have better internet and I will add more pictures and update.  For now, here is an incomplete look at what we have been doing.

There is a park very near our house that we have enjoyed for short visits when it is bearable to be out in the cold for a bit.  The kids are really enjoying the new (to us)  types of toys.

We went to a Christmas party at the Embassy where I ate the best French fries ever.  Nicholas and Lindsay had quite a while to wait to sit on Santa’s lap and I think I heard some conspiring whispers.  Nicholas asked Santa for a cat for Christmas and Lindsay asked for a dog.  I’m going to have a talk with Santa and explain why that is not a good idea.

On a visit downtown we walked through a beautiful cathedral that had large nativities on display from around the world.  The architecture is beautiful and much different than we are used to.

In the background is the restaurant where we ate our first Belgian waffles in Belgium.  They were delicious!

I watched out my window as this red car parked between the other two vehicles.  I was in awe that anyone could park with so little space on either side.   I’m as afraid to park as I am to drive on these narrow streets.  So far it has not been an issue since I currently do not have a car.

An attempt at building a snow man was made.  The snow was not sticking together which made it impossible to roll.

Nicholas only has one snow glove and found he couldn’t function with his others so he spent most of his time outside looking like this…

He gave up and went inside and Sabrina (with a little help from Lindsay at the beginning) was able to get the snow to stick together enough to create this…

Thank you for blogging your adventures Lisa! I am glad to see that all is going well! Hang in there, you'll be speaking French and squeezing into little parking spots before you know it! The girls' snowman is a cutie and I love the pic of Nicholas!:-)

So good to hear how things are going. Chey misses Bri so so much. I thought it would get better, but not yet! She is determined to come visit. We look forward to more of your adventures. Love you all!
Thanks for the pictures. It is so wonderful to see you world there.
