Hooray for visitors!

My parents came to visit during our winter break.  The first stop was, of course, to the market to get fresh liege waffles.  Delicious!

We went to the Netherlands to see some windmills.  The wind was unbearably cold so we only stayed for a few minutes before heading back home.

We went to Paris to see the sights.  Ryan and the kids took the stairs up to the top of the Eiffel Tower (really the second level, the top was closed) while my parents and I waited in line for the elevator.  The stairs are a much faster way to go and we will take them next time.  As we were waiting in line we could see their rapid ascent while we inched along.  They were at the top a full hour before us.

They beat us down from the Eiffel tower too.  The elevator is not the most time efficient way to go.  They spent quite a bit of time waiting for us.

We lucked out and had some beautiful weather.  We saw blue sky!  I had forgotten what it looked like!  The sky seemed to be the bluest (is that a word?) here by the Statue of Liberty replica.

We walked a lot and saw a lot.

One of the kids favorite places was the zoo.  We spent most of a day there.  My children took pictures of almost every animal so we never need to go to a zoo again.  I have proof they've seen zoo animals already.

After our paris trip the kids headed back to school and I took my parents to Brugge.

Our final destination outside of Brussels was Monschau, Germany.  Since we were visiting in February most of the town was closed.  It was perfect, we had the town to ourselves.

The time went by too fast and we were sad to see them go.  I'm trying to convince my mom she needs to come back for Christmas next year.  Maybe if I ask really nice....
