Mother's Day
Ryan's parents just happened to be here for mother's day this year. The Sunday before it was announced that the primary children would be singing 3 songs, in 3 different languages and I thought I should take part of the piano playing responsibility and accompany for at least one song. Rosemary and Siegfried were stranded at our house listening to me play the same song over and over again for a week. The day of the performance I think I made history for being the worst accompanist ever. I started the introduction with the wrong notes. I continued to get confused and stopped in the middle of the introduction. I then proceeded to skip the rest of the introduction and start playing the song. The kids started singing while I played many wrong notes and only occasionally played the left hand notes. It was not pretty. If we had more than 10 kids singing it might not have been so noticeable. With that great entrance into playing in front of others during church I have decided to leave the piano playing to others. And when there is not anyone to play the piano in the future I will kindly think of others and let everyone sing a capella. It sounds better that way.
Siegfried and Rosemary enjoyed a walk around the park while we worked off a bit of energy at one of the playgrounds.
One of the favorite attractions for our family are these bouncy tire things. They are quite fun, at least up to the point where someone gets hurt and starts crying. Seems like the really cool things always end in tears.
I forced a few pictures out of everyone. I'm not sure if the faces Nicholas always makes during picture time are learned or hereditary, but the apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree.
And that is why we end up with so many pictures with funny faces. If you can't beat them, join them.
