No Car Sunday
Every September the streets of Brussels (mostly) close to motorized traffic for a day and the road is open to play. Public Transportation is running and free for the day. Sabrina and I took the tram to see a friend at the hospital this morning and meant to take another tram to the church. We had plenty of time but the tram line we needed evaded us and we decided to walk until we found a tram heading in the right direction. One hour later we arrived at church, on foot, with the addition of a few blisters on Sabrina's feet. I don't recommend walking in heels on cobblestones for an hour. She was really missing the car. And a map.
The day was blessedly sunny with no rain. We rode on normally dangerously busy streets without the threat of hundreds of cars whizzing by. Only public transportation vehicles and cars with diplomatic plates were allowed on the streets.

It did get a little too crowded and crazy so after a man yelled at Nicholas for getting in his way we headed back home. Our street was nice and quiet, except for us.
Nicholas decided he needed a pillow but I didn't want him to be too comfortable on the street.
Their lovely artwork
I wish every Sunday was a car free day!
